The Service Manager will have oversight ensuring efficiency and effective use and support for the overall service department. The Service Manager will provide guidance with technology assessments, equipment safety, and project planning. The Service Manager will participate in the negotiation of major maintenance, repair, and parts quotes for customers. The Service Manager will lead the team in financial management including the development and execution of the Biomedical Services agreements and responsibility for meeting benchmark and productivity metrics. The Service Manager will ensure the team has a reputation for high-level customer service standards. The Service Manager will develop, implement and coordinate operational programs and projects. The Service Manager will have the responsibility to ensure documentation of compliance and metrics of the biomedical equipment testing and maintenance program meets regulatory requirements. The Service Manager will track and trend data to proactively assess and mitigate risk associated with the use and maintenance of medical equipment. The Service Manager will provide data for leadership on performance metrics and make recommendations on efficiency. The Service Manager will have the responsibility of growing the capabilities of the staff as well as providing performance reviews and setting personnel goals that contribute to the departmental goals. This person will participate in workforce planning, recruitment, retention occupational health and safety, education, and performance management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•Repairs malfunctioning medical devices and systems using experience, training, department, and vendor resources so that the device meets manufacturers' specifications for performance and safety.

•Performs preventive maintenance, electrical safety, and functional testing of medical devices exercising a high degree of technical proficiency using documented department procedures.

•Maintains accurate records of all work (both productive and non-productive but not including lunch and break) using the department's equipment management database and following established department procedures.

•Ensures all scheduled monthly reports are 100% completed in the month they are assigned

•Orders correct parts and service items to complete the repairs and preventive maintenance. Reorders parts if the department is maintaining a stock level.

•Develops training and provides education to other Biomedical Technician on devices and systems

•Maintains own competency and stays up to date on specialized devices and systems.

MINIMAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Biomedical experience in a hospital or surgery center setting, including management experience. Must have AAMI certification and be a graduate of a biomedical training program or business degree. Must have a valid driver's license.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

A minimum Associate's Degree and AAMI certification in Biomedical Equipment Technician(CBET)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum five years experience in the Biomedical field and three years in management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to walk and safely lift at least 50 pounds
